Who doesn't love a good hearty meal? This British dish is great for any time of the
year. This is relatively inexpensive to make and hits home for just in time for St.
Patrick's Day. Traditional Shepherd's Pie calls for lamb, I used ground beef but either
or works just fine. Ground beef is usually easier to find. This is an easy dinner
a recipe that never goes out of style.
What you will need:
Potatoes (2 pounds)
1 1/2 Pounds of Ground Beef
Small Can of Tomato Paste
Small Bag of Frozen Peas and Carrots
1. Peel the potatoes, clean cute and boil. Once potatoes are finished you can mash them with sour cream, garlic, salt, and pepper. I like to use a potato masher like this one.
2. In a large frying pan fry up the ground beef, once that is finished add the tomato paste and Worchester sauce. mix that in really well. Once that is added in real well you can add the chicken stock and the mixed vegetable.
3. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Move the meat and vegetable mixture to a baking dish. I like this one. Cover it all with the potatoes.
4. Bake for 1/2 hour at 350ºF until the top is brown and the pie is heated through evenly.
